Answer “what would you like?” once
Guests want to give something you will love, and asking feels awkward on both sides. The gifts page answers it calmly, in one place, right next to your invitation.
Gifts are included from the Story plan.
Three ways to give
- Bank details with a copy button, so guests who prefer to give money copy your IBAN without typos.
- Shop gift lists: link to the lists you have at shops, and guests go straight there.
- Your own gift list: add the things you would like, and guests reserve one. Others see it is taken, so nobody brings the same toaster twice. Nobody sees who reserved what.
How guests use it
Guests open the gifts page from your event, choose how they want to give and do it in their own time, before or after the day. Guests abroad who can’t come find it especially useful.
How hosts use it
You add your bank details, your shop links and your list items from the hosts’ dashboard and change them whenever you like. You see which items are reserved, so you know what is still open, without knowing who chose it.
Tips
- Keep the tone light. A short line such as “Your presence is the best gift, but if you would like to…” goes a long way.
- Guests from different countries have different habits. Some bring an envelope on the day, others prefer a transfer, and bank details help those who can’t come or would rather not carry cash.
- For a christening, a short list of practical baby things saves the parents from five identical outfits.
- Keep the wishbook in mind too, also on Story. Words often mean as much as gifts.
